Bringing home a new puppy is exciting anytime of year, but let’s be honest—summer just hits different. The sun is shining, the days are longer, and your whole routine tends to slow down just enough to soak in those special moments. And when it comes to puppy parenting, there are some big benefits to a summer homecoming:

1. Warm Weather = Easier Potty Training

Let’s skip the snow boots and shivering in the driveway at 6 a.m., shall we? Potty training is a lot easier when you’re not battling shivers and mud. Warm weather makes outdoor time more enjoyable for everyone—including your pup.

At 4 Weeks Old: Finding Their Feet, Voices, and Confidence

Right now, our little chocolate crew is in a seriously fun stage. At 4 weeks old, they’re in the thick of discovering the world around them:

• They’ve found their feet and are starting to teeter, toddle, and tumble their way around their whelping area. (think adorably milk-drunk balls of fluff)

• They’ve found their voices, which means there’s a lot of adorable yipping, chirping, and the occasional sassy bark. This is when personalities really start to emerge

• They’re socializing, learning to interact with their littermates and the humans who adore them. The rough and tumble play starts now and their establishing their "rank" in the litter as they wrestle until they tumble into a sleepy pile together!
  

But beyond the cute chaos, there’s intention behind every moment.

At Glittering Grace, we don’t just “raise puppies”—we nurture future family members with structured socialization and purposeful desensitization from the start. That includes:

• Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) in the first few weeks to help improve cardiovascular performance, stronger adrenal systems, and better stress tolerance.

• Tactile exposure to different surfaces and textures, so your pup is confident walking on hardwood, carpet, grass, tile—and maybe even your yoga mat.

• Daily human contact in a loving, safe space to foster connection and trust.

Sound Training Starts Now!

Now that the pups are more aware and interactive, we’re turning up the volume—literally.

Sound training is an essential part of our program and one of the biggest contributors to raising well-adjusted, calm, and confident dogs. By introducing your puppy to a variety of everyday noises while they’re still with their mom and littermates, we help reduce their likelihood of developing fear or anxiety later in life.

Here are just a few of the sounds our pups are being gently introduced to:

• Vacuum cleaners

• Thunder and fireworks (hello, summer nights)

• Pots and pans clanging in the kitchen

• Barking from other dogs

• Doorbells, car horns, children playing

This approach helps your pup understand that noises are a normal part of life—not something to fear. Because when you’ve heard a blender going off during nap time... a lawnmower on a Sunday morning ain’t no big thing.

Okay, now for the really fun part. Let us introduce you to the stars of the season: the Chocolate Litter, named after everyone’s favorite sweet treats. Each pup is developing their own personality, quirks, and charm—and while a few are already spoken for, the rest are ready to find their forever homes. Each of these pups is as unique and lovable as their namesake, and we’re thrilled to introduce them:

🐾 Godiva

Our resident diva and the first to be claimed (naturally). She’s got sass, smarts, and the confidence of a queen. This confident girl knew she was special from day one.

Always the first to explore, the first to get to the food bowl, and the first to be claimed. She’s got big personality, sweet cuddles, and a sassy side (fun note = she's going to a family of all boys....she's going to bring some balance!).

This dapper little gent sports snowy white mittens on each paw and a sharp tuxedo face. He’s equal parts charm and chill. This boy is handsome with a capital H.

One of only two girls in the litter—She’s gentle, playful, and just waiting to steal your heart.

She has the darkest, richest coat of any puppy we've ever had and those curls!! If you’re looking for a loyal, loving sidekick with a splash of sugar and spice—this is your girl.

🐾 Bonbon

The tiniest of the bunch with the curliest coat. He may be small, but this little stud has a big heart!

He may be the runt of the litter, but don’t let his size fool you. He’s quick, clever, and loves being close to his humans. Big things come in small, fluffy packages!

🐾 Hershey

As sweet as his name suggests. With a smoother coat and golden retriever vibes, he’s basically a walking, wagging hug. This sweetheart is shaping up to be a loving, mellow companion.

With a flatter coat and a golden retriever look, Hershey is like a chocolate-covered teddy bear. He’s warm, gentle, and the kind of pup who’ll follow you from the couch to the porch just to be near you.

Big, lovable, and decadently dark. Mousse is calm, confident, and wise beyond his weeks. Rich, dark, and so sweet—just like his name.

Mousse is one of the bigger boys and already carries himself like a wise old soul. He’s got a tiny white patch on his chin that we swear is his “distinguished gentleman” signature (silver fox!). Calm, loving, and irresistibly cuddly.

This sweet treat has the cutest freckled face and striking tuxedo markings. Picture-perfect and playful.

With those adorable whiskers and striking markings, Truffle is as photogenic as they come. He’s playful, people-focused, and has the kind of happy energy that makes every day better.
